Folk taboos

There is a taboo in folk customs called 'leave no one behind on rainy nights'. It means that during rainy nights, do not actively try to persuade unfamiliar guests, because you are not sure if they are human or not.

This happened last year on the Zhongyuan Festival. He is one of my benefactors, and here he is called Fun.

His family runs a restaurant, which is usually open until more than one o'clock in the morning. Last year, on the night of Zhongyuan Festival, because there were few people in the rain, his father was going to burn paper, so he told him to close the shop early,

He was playing a game at the time, so he casually responded. When the game was over and he was about to get up and close the store, he suddenly noticed an old lady in gray clothes standing at the door for some time.

Because it was around 11pm at the time, he also knew this mother-in-law. She used to come to his house often to ask for food, so he thought the old man was hungry and called him into the shop. Then he poured a glass of water for the old man and cooked a Fried Rice.
Afterwards, I returned to the checkout counter and continued playing games. But after playing for a while, he suddenly felt particularly tired and then inexplicably fell asleep.

When he woke up again, he found himself standing on a black gray dirt road, with a bunch of hands stretching out from nowhere on both sides of the road, constantly trying to grab him. He was startled at that moment and instinctively began to hide, but the hands on both sides of the road were increasing. In the end, he had no choice but to run forward.

After that, he ran to a place like an ancient village. At the gate of the village, there was a five or six meter high memorial archway. Two people were standing under the memorial archway. He had just run over when one of the people came up to stop him, saying something, 'Who brought him here? He hasn't reached the time yet.'. After speaking, he waved at him.

Then he suddenly woke up, only to find himself standing on the road, his father holding him tightly and shouting his name incessantly.

According to his father, when he came back from burning the paper, he saw him and followed the demon, circling around the store as if hiding from something, ignoring any questions. Then, for some reason, he lifted his leg and was about to rush onto the road. His father quickly rushed forward and tightly hugged him. But he had no memory of these things at all, and then he suddenly remembered that mother-in-law and asked his father, 'Where is that mother-in-law?'. His father adjusted the surveillance, but there was no mother-in-law on the screen. From beginning to end, he was the only one talking to himself in front of the air.

His father suspected that he had bumped into something, so the next day, he quickly brought him to find me. After he finished speaking, I looked at his mother-in-law who was following him and dared not come in. I also thought it was strange. He knew her in person, and she was kind enough to give him food. Why did she want to pull him down. So I talked to this mother-in-law for a while.

Afterwards, according to the mother-in-law, she had lived in this area before. During her lifetime, her children were not filial and did not care about her. After her death, they did not burn anything for her. When she was alive, Afeng often fed her. She thought Afeng was a good person and must be very filial, so she wanted to take him down as her grandson to be filial to her.

After listening, I had nothing to say and didn't feel like talking nonsense to her, so I forcibly expelled her. Afterwards, I made some decorations in Afeng's store to prevent this mother-in-law from coming back, so everything was fine.
